Setsuko’s Demon Planet

For starters, I’m sorry for being totally M.I.A for several consecutive weeks it’s uncalled for… but in my defense I’d like to say that finals are coming up and my teachers have been hammering us with work lately so I haven’t exactly had time to watch new anime or review anything (╥_╥). Despite my absence I have been working on a new gif for you!! It started as a simple project for my Computer Science II class and as of right now its in the beginning stages, but I’ll give you a sneak peek anyway. (PS: idk why it won’t loop like a normal gif… I exported it as a gif from Photoshop, but if you want to play it again just refresh the page.)

Dunnn dunnnnn dunnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!

setsuko_planet

The more I think about it the more I’m thinking this will be the planet Setsuko, a defective Cellquoid, is sent to. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about or you just like clicking buttons, then click the picture of my original character Setsuko below to get up to speed on her backstory or just scroll down a few posts!!  )

By now you’ve either read my previous post about Setsuko or you simply made the executive decision to continue reading and finish this blog post which is about to come to an end because I have to get some sleep…. so, GOODNIGHT!!

7:00am Animation Work Flow

Lil Animation (⁀ᗢ⁀)

NOW

I wasn’t able to sleep at all last night– currently its 7:00am–, so to pass the time I decided to animate. That little gif you see up there is mine, but I’m going to take a wild guess and say that you already knew that since its in the “Le Sketchbook” category. Granted its not perfect in the slightest since, but hey its a start. (Haha, sorry for my awkward handwriting… ꒰ू ऀ•̥́ꈊ͒ੁ•ૅू॰˳ऀ꒱ ͟͟͞ ̊ ̥ ̥ ) For this one I used Photoshop CS5, but I’ve also been working in Autodesk Maya. A few months back when I had time to use Autodesk I began creating a solar system. It was fairly interesting until I ran into this dreadful problem that I still haven’t been able to fix. I was trying to make the moon revolve around the Earth as it rotates on its axis (or something to that degree), but I’ll try something different today if I have enough energy left after 8:00am. I honestly don’t know what I’m running on right now. For dinner last night all I had was a little Asian salad, four… no make that five blackberries, and a glass of water. I’ll probably crash in a little bit and sleep til 2:00pm.

Goodnight…    Σ( ̄。 ̄ノ)

PS: If I am alive by 5:00pm I’ll post part 2 of “Nisekoi Stopped my Heart”! ヽ(*⌒∇⌒*)ノ

Setsuko is a test subject created by her “father” Kabuto, a government scientist. He was involved in The Cellquoid Project. The project requires scientist to create human like creatures called Cellquoids and send them to neighboring planets. Their main objective is to observe the behaviors of other lifeforms and determine whether humans can live on another planet. It took four years to create the final version of Setsuko. As a Cellquoid, she doesn’t have an actual heart that beats, instead she has a chip implanted to fill that space. The chip is a data storage compartment that enables her to store information about the planet’s atmosphere and record the standard behaviors of other lifeforms. Human cells were embedded within the chip to give the host human like features and abilities. The only other difference is that she doesn’t have feelings and she can only obey orders from Kabuto, her creator.

One night while creating Setsuko, Kabuto’s assistant Shina accidentally switched the chemicals that were supposed to be infused with the material for the chip. Shortly after pouring in the chemical substance she left the lab completely unaware of her mistake. The next day Kabuto performed the last examination on Setsuko and presented her to the government officials. Then she was sent to a neighboring planet (I don’t have name yet, but feel free to comment one below if you have any suggestions!!) in a space capsule. Six months later when the government officials were investigating the data she recorded they noticed some bizarre changes in her mental state. She was becoming more defiant and acting out on her own. Setsuko had a thirst for blood and began killing other lifeforms at random. It seemed that her body became a host for a demon.

Well, that’s it for today. Don’t forget to comment any name ideas, personality traits, or plot changes down below!
